Designed by Seve Ballesteros and opened in 1998, Alicante golf is situated next to the beach and is an appealing challenge for any golfer. The main feature of the course is the abundance of water, which makes for an interesting round.
It has long tees and extensive but luxuriant fairways with beautiful garden areas and spectacular lakes, which give golfers a good chance to enjoy their round of golf. There are a number of holes with water hazards and out-of-bounds so the course increases in difficulty as it goes on. The course has two unusual features; the first being the lake in the shape of an S (which is the initial of the designer) that surrounds the green on the 9th hole; the second are the Roman ruins next to the 14th hole, which the golfer has to clear to reach the green.
